Hello, I’m Jazmyne Charles-Balan, a passionate educator with a deep love for hair care. I grew up in Massachusetts, where I learned early on the importance of maintaining and caring for my hair. As a Haitian-American woman, I was surrounded by strong, inspiring women on both my mother’s and father’s sides of the family, and they all instilled in me the value of self-care, especially when it came to hair.

My hair journey began at a very young age. I got my first perm when I was just 3 years old, but it wasn’t until my sophomore year of high school that I made the bold decision to do the "big chop." This was a challenging moment for me, especially since I faced teasing from my peers. But I knew it was important for me to embrace and experience my natural hair.

From a young age, I’ve always been passionate about hair care. I often experimented with different products, much to the dismay of my mom, who was worried I’d ruin my hair. Despite the challenges I faced with my own hair, I never lost my love for learning about and exploring ways to keep it healthy.

After years of experimenting and dealing with my own hair struggles, I created Hello Beauty Organics in the summer of 2022, during the height of the pandemic. My first product, a scalp and hair oil, was born out of my desire to nurture the scalp and promote healthy hair growth. I believe that healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp, and this oil is designed to nourish, hydrate, and encourage hair growth while helping to strengthen each strand.

Alongside my full-time work in education, I’m dedicated to growing Hello Beauty Organics and creating more organic products that will help all hair types flourish. My mission is to help others experience the same confidence and self-love through their hair that I’ve found on my own journey.
